A Young Couples Group Designed for Today’s Families
Between the demands of work, raising children, and limited free time, it's difficult for young parents to find community within the parish, especially as many feel caught between being too old for Young Adult groups and too young for other established ministries.
Fiat Families is specifically for married couples with young children, with the goal of building authentic relationships within the parish and deepening engagement with church life.
What makes this group different is its structure and intentionality:
- Two Gatherings Per Month
(as an example):
First Thursday: Wives meet
Third Thursday: Husbands meet
Each gathering would take place in the evening (e.g., 8-10 PM), after kids’ bedtimes, to allow both parents to be present at home. The alternating format removes the barrier of childcare costs; spouses take turns staying home, ensuring both partners get a night out for connection and renewal.
Men and women connect and grow in different ways. These separate nights allow each spouse to form real friendships with peers in a relaxed, judgment-free environment.
- Community First, Faith Always
Each evening begins and ends in prayer, but the focus is on building trust, friendship, and mutual support by creating a strong sense of community amongst parish families.
